About Tandem Dog
Tandem Dog is a veteran-owned/operated dog training company based out of the Skowhegan area of Maine. While I am new to the area, I am not new to dog training. My dog training path started out as fun when I was a kid and grew into a full-time profession as an adult. I owned two different dog training companies in North Carolina. The first was a home-based business and the second was the first brick and mortar dog training facility in a county of close to 200,000 people. Our facility competed with over 30 different dog training companies in that county and we were voted the Number 1 dog training company for five years in a row, until we sold the business in 2022. Our business also had a certified dog trainer apprenticeship program through the State of North Carolina’s community college system. This program allowed us to train and certify individuals that wanted to become dog trainers. In addition, we were also hired by Animal Behavior College to perform their externship certifications, a requirement prior to their students graduating from their program. I have also worked for two non-profit organizations training service dogs for disabled veterans. In the end though, the biggest accolades were the happiness of both the dog and owner at the conclusion of each program.
Tailored Training
Every dog and owner team I meet is treated as an individual. Not every program or method works for every dog which is why I tailor each program to you and your dog's specific needs. I also do not just tell you what to do, I want you to understand the "Why" behind everything; what your dog may be thinking, why your dog does what it does, and how we are going to get your dog to do what we want it to do.

Obedience: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Brush-up
Specialized: Scent Detection, Therapy Dog, Service Dog
Behavior Modification: Anxiety, Fear, Aggression*
Due to the complexity of specialized and behavioral modification programs costs and program length are determined on a case-by-case basis.
Obedience Pricing
5 Prive In-Home Lessons $450
Currently all training is done at your home. Rather than have different programs and different prices I base the program off of time. During your consultation we will discuss your needs and if I feel we need more or less time to accomplish your goals I will adjust the number of lessons.
